Course Summary: This course provides physician providers the opportunity to receive additional training in emergent airway management. The course involves a combination of didactics, task training, and scenarios to allow participants to recognize the signs of a difficult airway and to mitigate the risk of adverse outcome applying a systemic approach to management.

Course Summary:*The adult ECG & Pharmacology Course addresses a key knowledge gap in electrocardiogram (ECG) interpretation and pharmacology, and focuses on specific ECG recognition skills and drug treatment fundamentals. This offering is intended for ACLS students who complete ACLS pre-course self-assessment and find they need to improve their knowledge. It also has value for other healthcare providers.

Course Summary: This pediatric focused course combines objectives for the management of pediatric patients in both the hospital and pre-hospital setting. In partnership with SC DHEC EMS, this course is offered through grant dollars free to SC EMS personnel.

Course Format: This is a 16-hour 2-day course.
Target Audience: South Carolina EMS paramedics, flight medics, flight nurses and other healthcare providers that treat pediatric patients in both hospital and pre-hospital settings.

Course Summary: At the conclusion of this course, learners will be able to demonstrate the ability to complete intubations under expected pre-hospital conditions. Providers are scored against the National Registry “checklist” to determine competency. Each provider is required to perform the intubation to 70% accuracy while not performing any actions that would harm a human patient as determined objectively by a facilitator.
