Prisma Health offers a nine-week nursing extern program for nursing students each year from May to July. The program gives students an opportunity to work alongside a professional RN preceptor while gaining experience and insight to enhance their nursing career. To apply, students must be in an accredited nursing program and scheduled to graduate the following December, May or August. Applications open in January.
A hospital-based internal staffing pool comprised of experienced registered nurses (RNs), licensed practical nurses (LPNs), patient support technicians (PSTs) and nursing support assistants (NSAs) hired to support our supplemental staffing needs at our Prisma Health hospital inpatient acute care units. Program offerings include full time, part time, and per diem opportunities.
