A Free Breakfast and Screening Event for Men
Men are invited to attend Palmetto Health’s seventh annual Men’s Health Day, a free breakfast and screening event, on Saturday, June 7, 7-11 a.m., at Palmetto Health Baptist, 1501 Sumter St., ground-floor auditorium. This year’s theme is “There’s Strength in Numbers: Do You Know Yours?”
The event will begin with health screenings, 7-9 a.m. Those who qualify can receive free screenings for prostate cancer, diabetes, cholesterol, blood pressure, BMI and body fat. During breakfast, which begins at 9 a.m., health professionals will discuss a variety of men’s health issues, such as prostate cancer, testosterone health, stroke and diabetes. There also will be questions taken from the audience.
Men’s Health Day is sponsored by Palmetto Health’s Office of Community Health, which offers a series of health care initiatives to uninsured and underserved people in Richland, Lexington and Fairfield counties. In addition to other efforts, services include free health screenings for cancer and diabetes, diabetes prevention classes, prenatal services, teen pregnancy prevention efforts, as well as dental programs.
Registration is required and additional screening times are available. For more information or to register, call 803-296-CARE (2273).
