Palmetto Health-University of South Carolina School of Medicine Simulation Center Unveils SimCOACH™

TOPIC: Whether it’s an Advanced Cardiac Life Support class, clinicians learning about a specific patient care skill or a full-scale disaster response scenario, the Palmetto Health-University of South Carolina School of Medicine Simulation Center now has a new tool to take training to clinicians across South Carolina.

On Tuesday, the Palmetto Health-University of South Carolina School of Medicine Simulation Center will roll out SimCOACH™, South Carolina’s first fully equipped mobile simulation laboratory. This new mobile unit was specifically designed to bring team-based medical simulation training to students, nurses, resident physicians, military medical personnel and community members who otherwise would have travel to brick-and-mortar centers across the state for this kind of specialized training. Education courses offered by the new SimCOACH™ will range from individual patient care scenarios to disaster response scenarios.

SimCOACH™ was made possible through a generous donation from an anonymous donor to Palmetto Health Foundation as well as gifts from CAE Healthcare and Bank of America.

WHEN: Tuesday, April 29

TIME: 10 a.m.

PLACE: Palmetto Health-University of South Carolina School of Medicine Simulation Center, 3555 Harden St. Ext. (lower level of 15 Medical Park) Media parking will be available.
