EVENT: Physicians who helped create Children’s Hospital 30 years ago will attend pediatric grand rounds and then will be paired with pediatric residents to round and reminisce about the changes in pediatric care since the hospital’s inception. Founding physicians will tour today’s technologically sophisticated pediatric hospital and see the innovations in equipment, techniques and medical care. They will be honored at a reception and then will share their experiences of how pediatric care has advanced since the state’s first children’s hospital first opened its doors in 1983.
WHEN: Tomorrow, Friday, Nov. 1
TIME: Grand Rounds – 8 a.m.
Rounding – 9:30 a.m.
Reception - 11 a.m.
Lunch – 12 p.m.
PLACE: Palmetto Health Children’s Hospital, 7 Richland Medical Park Dr.
(Note that Grand Rounds will be held in the Richland Auditorium)
ABOUT: Founding physicians with expertise in surgery, neonatology and other specialties blazed a trail to create South Carolina’s first children’s hospital. Since its founding, Children’s Hospital has treated half a million babies, children and adolescents. They will share 30 years of milestones and miracles at this event.
