ABOUT: As women age, their bodies change. Some changes are expected, others aren’t. As a result of childbirth, less estrogen after menopause, chronic coughing, heavy lifting, or being overweight, up to 50 percent of women over age 40 develop pelvic prolapse at some point in their lifetime. Possible symptoms include: pelvic pressure or pain, lower back pain, constipation, pain during sex, frequent urination, and repeated bladder infections. If you are experiencing any of these symptoms, you are not alone.
Attend one of Palmetto Health’s upcoming GYN seminars to learn more about safe and effective treatment options from one of the area’s leading gynecologists, Tom Giudice, M.D., of South Carolina OB/GYN. The seminar is free and light refreshments will be served. Registration is required and space is limited. For more information or to register, call 803-296-CARE (2273) or visit PalmettoHealth.org/GynSeminar5.
