Palmetto Health Offers Safe Sitter® Babysitting Course

Palmetto Health will offer one-day and two-day Safe Sitter® babysitting courses for teens ages 11-14. All courses will be held at Palmetto Health Baptist, 1501 Sumter St., ground-floor classroom, at the following date and times:
• One-day courses:
Tuesday, June 25, 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m.
Wednesday, June 26, 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m.
Wednesday, July 10, 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m.
• Two-day course:
Monday, July 22-July 23, 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m.

Safe Sitter® was designed by a pediatrician and is endorsed by the American Society of Pediatrics. The course will provide teens with information on nurturing childcare techniques, basic life-saving techniques, safety precautions and how and when to call for help. Each participant will receive a Safe Sitter® manual, a completion card and a T-shirt.

The one-day course costs $75 and the two-day course costs $125. Advance registration is required and space is limited. Participants are required to bring their lunch.
