April 2: Infant CPR Class:
Learn how to save your baby’s life in an emergency by attending Palmetto Health’s infant CPR class 6:30-8:30 p.m., Tuesday, April 2, at Palmetto Health Richland, 9 Medical Park Drive, Suite 130. The class will illustrate infant CPR techniques from certified instructors. Participants will get the chance to practice CPR and choking maneuvers on infant mannequins. April 10: Lymphedema Advocacy and Legislation Seminar:
Individuals and caregivers dealing with lymphedema are invited to attend the Lymphedema Advocacy and Legislation seminar on Thursday, April 10, from 6-7 p.m. at Palmetto Health Baptist, 1501 Sumter St., in Meeting Room 2, ground-floor. As part of Palmetto Health’s lymphedema support group program, this free event will feature Heather Ferguson, executive director and founder of the Lymphedema Advocacy Group. Ferguson will discuss current legislation issues affecting people with lymphedema, promoting awareness of the Lymphedema Treatment Act and how to get involved. Light refreshments will be served. April 15: Good Grieving Program:
Children and teens are invited to participate in “Good Grieving for Children” on Monday, April 15 from 5-8 p.m. in the Palmetto Health Children’s Hospital conference room, 7 Richland Medical Park Drive, first floor. This free program is for children and teens to learn how to cope with loss and death. National Healthcare Decisions Day:
Tuesday, April 16 is National Healthcare Decisions Day—an initiative to encourage patients to express their wishes regarding health care and for providers and facilities to respect those wishes. National, state and community organizations are leading this massive effort to draw attention to the importance of advance care planning. As a participating organization, Palmetto Health is providing information and tools for community members to use to talk about their wishes with family, friends and health care providers and execute written advance directives in accordance with S.C. state laws. These resources include S.C. Health Care Power of Attorney, Advance Directives and Living Will. For more information, visit NationalHealthcareDecisionsDay.org.

April 17: National Bereavement Teleconference:
Palmetto Health Hospice will host a free telecast of the 20th Annual National Bereavement Teleconference, “Improving Care for Veterans Facing Illness and Death,” from 1-4:30 p.m., Wednesday, April 17 and Thursday, April 18. The program provides an opportunity for a wide variety of professionals—including doctors, nurses, funeral directors, psychologists, educators, social workers and bereavement counselors—to share and exchange ideas and obtain continuing education credits. The telecast will be broadcast at the following Palmetto Health locations:
• Wednesday, April 17, at the Palmetto Health Baptist auditorium, 1501 Sumter St., in Columbia, S.C.
• Thursday, April 18, at the Palmetto Health Richland auditorium, 5 Medical Park Drive, in Columbia, S.C.
• Thursday, April 18, at Palmetto Health Hospice of Newberry, 1400 Camellia Ave., in Newberry, S.C.

April 19: ?KEMOPALOOZA:
Attend Palmetto Health Foundation’s KEMOPALOOZA on Friday, April 19 from 7-11 p.m. at EdVenture Children’s Museum, 211 Gervais St., Columbia, S.C. Enjoy a night of fun, food, musical entertainment from The A-town A-list band and an auction to help raise money for CAMP KEMO Programs. April 20: ?The Red Carpet Event:
Enjoy a night of music, dancing, and dessert with Palmetto Health Children’s Hospital and the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society at The Red Carpet Event. This free event will be held Saturday, April 20, at 6:30 p.m. in the Palmetto Health Children’s Hospital atrium, 7 Medical Park Drive, first floor. Patients, ages 3-21, who currently are being treated for a cancer diagnosis or have had treatment within the past two years are invited to attend. The Red Carpet Event is designed to give children who are undergoing cancer treatment an opportunity to have a night out on the town. Each child is allowed to bring one guest and up to two parents/chaperones. Those planning to attend must RSVP prior to the event. April 25-26: ?McDaniels Golf Classic and VIP Auction:
Dust off your golf clubs, start working on your swing and get ready for the 23rd McDaniels Golf Classic and Auction. In partnership with Coach Steve Spurrier, the Auction will be held on Thursday, April 25 at The Zone at Williams-Brice Stadium. The McDaniels Golf Classic will be held on Friday, April 26 at the Fort Jackson Golf Club. Proceeds benefit Palmetto Health Cancer Centers.
