TOPIC: Palmetto Health Children’s Hospital is teaming up with the Mid-Carolina Electric Cooperative (MCEC) to spread some holiday cheer with “Operation Santa.” At “Operation Santa,” children will get to choose from a variety of gift items to find presents for their loved ones this holiday season. There also will be a special visit from Santa Claus and one of his elves. Children will have the opportunity to visit with Santa and tell him what they are wishing for this Christmas.
“When children are in the hospital at Christmastime they don't have the opportunity to go and shop for Christmas presents, so we bring the shopping to them,” said Emily Stowe, public relations coordinator for MCEC. “Each child can pick out a few gifts to give to a loved one for Christmas. We want to show them the giving spirit of Christmas through selecting gifts for others.”
Once they are finished shopping, the children also will have the opportunity to wrap their presents. Volunteers will be on hand to help assist.
WHEN: Thursday, Dec. 13, 2012
TIME: 2:30–3:30 p.m.
