Nov. 5: Look Good, Feel Better:
Join the American Cancer Society and S.C. Cosmetology Association for “Look Good, Feel Better” from 5:30–7:30 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 5, at Palmetto Health Baptist, 1501 Sumter St., Classroom B. This free program is designed for patients undergoing, completing or beginning cancer treatments. A cosmetologist will give hints on make-up, hair, nails, and how to use scarves, turbans and hats. Nov. 6: ?Infant CPR Class:
Learn how to save your baby’s life in an emergency by attending Palmetto Health’s infant CPR class 6:30–8:30 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 6, at Palmetto Health Richland, 9 Medical Park Drive, Suite 130. The class will illustrate infant CPR techniques from certified instructors. Participants will get the chance to practice CPR and choking maneuvers on infant mannequins. Nov. 8: Lymphedema Support Group:
Individuals and caregivers dealing with lymphedema are invited to join Palmetto Health’s free lymphedema support group. The group will meet from meet 11 a.m.–12 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 8, at Palmetto Health Baptist, 1501 Sumter St. in Classroom A, ground-floor. This month’s topic is “Relaxation and Stress Reduction.” Light refreshments will be served. For more information, call 803-296-3564.

Diabetes Seminar:
Attend an educational diabetes seminar from 1:30–2:30 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 8, at Palmetto Health Baptist, 1501 Sumter St. in Classroom D & E. As part of the Palmetto Health Diabetes Education Program, the topic for this month’s seminar is “Healthy Holiday Meal Planning.” People living with diabetes and their family members will learn about diabetes and lifestyle changes that are helpful in managing this condition. Nov. 14: ?Car Seat Safety Class:
Learn how to keep your child safe by attending the Palmetto Health Children’s Hospital “Car Seat Safety Class.” This free event will take place from 6–7 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 14, at Palmetto Health Children’s Hospital, 7 Medical Park Drive, first-floor conference room. Nov. 16: ?Festival of Trees
Kick-off the holiday season with Palmetto Health Foundation’s 23rd annual Festival of Trees Nov. 16–18 at the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center, 1101 Lincoln Street. Enjoy beautiful decorated holiday items including trees, tabletop trees and wreaths that are part of a weekend-long silent auction to benefit Palmetto Health Children’s Hospital. New dads are invited to attend Palmetto Health’s “Just For Dads” from 6:30–8:30 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 27, at Palmetto Health Richland, 9 Richland Medical Park Drive, Suite 130. Daddy Boot Camp is a dad-to-dad training program that prepares new dads for the challenges and joys of fatherhood. The class is for dads only and requires a registration fee of $20. Free Diabetes Screenings:
Palmetto Health offers free diabetes screenings on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 5:45–7:20 p.m., at 1801 Sunset Drive; Thursdays, 11 a.m.–1 p.m., at Palmetto Health Baptist, 1501 Sumter St., Office of Community Services. To find out if you qualify or to register, call 803-296-CARE(2273).

Free Cancer Screenings:
Palmetto Health offers free breast and cervical cancer screenings on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 5:30–7 p.m., and the second Saturday of every month, 8 a.m.–12 p.m. at Palmetto Health Women’s Center, 1801 Sunset Drive. Prostate cancer screenings are held the fourth Thursday of every month, 5:30–7 p.m. Find out more and see if you qualify for the free screenings by calling 803-296-CARE(2273).

Healthy Palmetto Walking Program:
Join Palmetto Health’s free walking program to receive a pedometer and incentives for reaching goals. To register, visit HealthyPalmetto.org or call 803-296-CARE(2273).

Stuffed Animal Donations:
Palmetto Health Children’s Hospital is in need of stuffed animals for children who are in hospital. The stuffed animals will be given to pediatric patients at Palmetto Health Children’s Hospital and later will be taken home by the child. Because of infection control guidelines and respiratory illnesses, stuffed animals must be new and store-bought. If you are interested in giving, call Allison Jones at 803-434-2151.
