Red Bank Elementary Student Organizes Book Drive to Benefit
Palmetto Health Children’s Hospital

TOPIC: Red Bank Elementary School fourth-grader Caleb Freeman wanted to do something to benefit Palmetto Health Children’s Hospital after Caleb’s friend was treated at the hospital.

Caleb decided to organize a book drive in conjunction with Red Bank Elementary School’s book fair and encouraged shoppers at the book fair to “buy one, give one.”

“Caleb believes every sick child needs a good book,” says Principal Marie Watson. “This donation is a special gift from Caleb and the RBES family to help sick and injured children during their time at Palmetto Health Children’s Hospital.”

On Friday, Oct. 12, Caleb will present 50 books to Certified Child Life Specialist Christy Fink who manages Palmetto Health Children’s Hospital’s Child Life department.

WHEN: Friday, Oct. 12

TIME: 9 a.m.

WHERE: Red Bank Elementary School, 246 Community Drive, Lexington, SC 29073

Editor’s Note: If you plan to attend the presentation at Red Bank Elementary School, contact Libby Roof, communications director for Lexington County School District One, at 803-821-1151 or 803-360-1836, before going to the school.
