September is National Infant Mortality Awareness Month

EVENT: In recognition of National Infant Mortality Awareness Month in September, Palmetto Healthy Start is hosting “The Journey of Life,” a tribute to midwives and children. The free month-long exhibit features photos and documents that provide a past, present and future look at the progress of reducing infant mortality in the local community.

WHEN: Sept. 1–30

TIME:
Monday–Saturday: 7 a.m.–12 p.m.
Sunday: noon–6 p.m.

PLACE: Sumter Mall, 1057 Broad St., Suite 73, Sumter

Palmetto Healthy Start is a member of the National Healthy Start Initiative and is operated through a federally funded grant received by Palmetto Health. Its mission is to reduce infant mortality, the number of low birth-weight babies and other health disparities in Richland, Fairfield, Lexington, and Sumter counties through education and outreach.
