Eight nurses from Palmetto Health have been selected to receive the 2012 Palmetto Gold award. Each year the South Carolina Nurses Foundation selects 100 nurses from across the state to receive the Palmetto Gold award for their excellence in nursing and their commitment to the nursing profession.
Palmetto Health is proud to congratulate their 2012 Palmetto Gold winners: Katora Campbell, Midlands Partnership; Karen Owens Baxley, Nursing Support Services; Kristen Dickens, Nursing Workforce Engagement; Michelle Flanagan, Perinatal Systems; Lisa James, Nephrology 7 West; Samuel Patrick, 8 West; Lauren Robinson, MICU; and Christine Wlodarczyk, Surgical Services.
Patricia Kenney, Nursing Workforce Engagement partner at Palmetto Health, is excited about the recognition. “This is a competitive program and usually several hundred nominations are submitted with only 100 being selected. We’re pleased that eight of the twelve exceptional nurses from Palmetto Health who were nominated were selected for this prestigious award.”
The Palmetto Gold award is part of the Palmetto Gold Nurse Recognition and Scholarship Program. Criteria for receiving the award include:
•Promotes and advances the profession of nursing in a positive way in the practice setting or in the community.
