Palmetto Health CEO Charles D. Beaman Jr. has appointed John J. Singerling III to the position of president of Palmetto Health. In this role, Singerling will be responsible for the oversight and operational performance of Palmetto Health’s hospitals—Palmetto Health Baptist, Richland and Parkridge—and other corporate duties including marketing and Human Resources. Singerling will report directly to Beaman.

Beaman said, “My decision to name John as president is strong evidence of his commitment to the mission, vision and values of Palmetto Health and the outstanding results that he has achieved in each position he has held at Palmetto Health. John not only is well-trained academically and has the right skill sets for success, but also has the experience, personality and leadership skills that characterize a health system leader. I am very pleased that John has accepted this appointment and I expect that the new position will add strength and growth opportunities for Palmetto Health.” The board of directors unanimously endorsed Beaman’s decision.

Singerling earned a bachelor’s degree from Michigan State University in East Lansing, Mich. and a master’s degree in health administration from the University of South Carolina in Columbia, SC. His personal and professional affiliations include being board certified in healthcare management as a Fellow of American College of Healthcare Executives, the USC Arnold School of Public Health Alumni Association, Greater Columbia Chamber of Commerce Leadership Columbia Class of 2000, South Carolina Hospital Association Healthcare Resources, Inc. Board of Directors, Premier Southeast COO/CFO Collaborative, Riverbanks Zoo Society Board of Directors, American Heart Association’s Midlands Start!
