Ryan Burke, MD,  graduated from the University of Georgia. He earned his Doctorate of Medicine and completed his general surgery residency at Emory University in Atlanta, Ga. Following his residency, Dr. Burke remained at Emory to complete his fellowship in cardiovascular and thoracic surgery. During his fellowship, Dr. Burke specialized in endovascular surgery. He joined Carolina Cardiac Surgery Associates in 2007. His clinical interests include open and endovascular aortic repair, and valve surgery. He performed the first Impella 5.0 implant in South Carolina. He oversees the Valve Center at Palmetto Health Heart Hospital.

Matthew Cantrell, MD earned his undergraduate degree at Miami University, and his medical degree at the Ohio State University College of Medicine and Public Health. He performed his internship and residency in internal medicine at the University of North Carolina Hospitals, Chapel Hill, and completed his fellowship in general cardiology and interventional cardiology at St. Vincent Hospital, Indianapolis. Dr. Cantrell is board certified in cardiovascular disease and interventional cardiology.

Reid W. Tribble, MD, graduated from Clemson University. He earned his Doctorate of Medicine at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, SC. He then completed a residency in general surgery at the North Carolina Baptist Hospital, Wake Forest University School of Medicine in Winston Salem, NC. His thoracic and cardiovascular residency was completed at the University of Virginia Health Sciences Center, Charlottesville, VA. He joined Carolina Cardiac Surgery Associates in 1995. Dr. Tribble has a special interest in aortic surgery.  Other areas of interest are mitral valve repair, redo coronary bypass, and all areas of peripheral vascular surgery.

Vince M. Vismara, MD, FACC, FSCAI earned his medical degree from St. Louis School of Medicine in St. Louis, MO, and completed his residency in internal medicine at the University of Connecticut Health Center in Farmington, CT. He completed fellowships in cardiovascular medicine and interventional cardiovascular at St. Vincent Hospital in Worcester, MA. He is board certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease and interventional cardiology.

Darlene Andrea, RN, BSN, CCRN earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Tampa.   She has over 21 years of critical care experience specializing in cardiac care and cardiovascular surgery  During this time Darlene obtained her Adult Critical Care Certification. In the last six years at Palmetto Health, Darlene has helped develop and implement the training for both the mechanical assist devices in the CVICU and the TAVR program. In her current role as valve coordinator, her focus is on coordinating patient care, education, liaison between patient and physician and community awareness.
