Midlands SAFE KIDS Coalition led by Palmetto Health Children's Hospital In 1995, Children's Hospital made a commitment to preventing unintentional childhood injury by forming the Midlands SAFE KIDS Coalition. Our coalition consists of firemen, law enforcement officers, educators, civic leaders, healthcare workers and many others. We work in partnership to educate thousands of children on safety and preventing unintentional injury. We do this by holding Bike Rodeos and checking bike helmets, regularly scheduled car seat checks, distributing safety information to health fairs and other community events, etc. Childhood injuries are not inevitable and should not be considered "just part of childhood." Most injuries can be prevented if parents, educators, government officials and business leaders make our children' safety a number one priority. Contact Midlands SAFE KIDS at 803-434-4031 to learn of ways you can help keep our children safe or go to www.midlandssafekids.org for addtional information.
