Holiday Helpings and Hope

Cancer can cause tremendous physical, emotional and financial anguish. Although most families look forward to the holidays with great eagerness and anticipation, families fighting cancer are often hard pressed to find comfort or joy during this holiday season. Through Holiday Helpings and Hope, you can help us warm the hearts of these children and adults and let them find comfort in knowing that others care.

Through this project, volunteers and donors join to provide 200 food baskets for Thanksgiving and adopt over 100 families cared for by our Cancer Center. Adults and children with cancer and their families directly benefit from this program.

You could volunteer to:

  • Pack a basket with Thanksgiving food and deliver it to a patient's home.
  • Deliver filled baskets several days before Thanksgiving.
  • Adopt a patient and/or family in December and provide gifts using their holiday wish list.
  • Provide financial support through a cash gift of any amount to help with gifts, food or holiday activities. Please remember that it takes approximately $100 to fill each basket and at least that much to provide several gifts.
  • For information, call Holiday Helpings and Hope at 434-4752.
