Clinical Trials at the South Carolina Cancer Center

Clinical treatment trials are studies that try to improve prevention, advance current treatment or find new treatments for diseases. They are the only reliable way to prove the effectiveness of various treatments. During a clinical trial, information is carefully collected to assess improvement in outcomes, and risks that may be associated with new treatments.

Please keep in mind that there are many different types of diseases, and the medical names can sound confusingly similar, especially for closely related diseases and for different stages of the same disease. You should discuss your diagnosis with your physician and know what your situation is before drawing any conclusions or making any decisions.

For more information, please call (803) 434-3680 or 1-800-775-2287.
