Support programs and individual sessions using visual and performing art to show creative ways to deal with cancer and feelings about the illness. No art talent required.

A new way of providing support and information to cancer patients and their families. Second Tuesdays offers information on the latest advancements in cancer treatment and programs for everyone affected by cancer — the patient, the survivor and family members of all ages. The group programs that follow this meeting are targeted to specific diagnoses and designed to meet a variety of needs. Quest, the children's program, meets at the same time.

Family Group Learning and sharing helps family and friends deal with a loved one's cancer.

Quest An evening program held monthly to help children whose family members have cancer to learn about their treatment. One-on-one sessions are available with a nurse or counselor if needed. Click for more information.

Prostate Cancer Group Helping prostate cancer patients and their families cope with and share experiences about living with prostate cancer. No registration required.

Colorectal Cancer Support Group
A monthly support group for colon cancer patients and survivors.

Facing Forward
A rehabilitation program conducted in a one-on-one session to help patients recover from cancer and function to their best ability.

A one-on-one session to help patients learn to deal with the changes and side effects of cancer treatment. Patients receive beauty aides and assistance with wig selection.
Volunteer with Patient

A service to connect a cancer patient with one a cancer survivor by telephone, letter or personal visits.

Look Good, Feel Better (Co-sponsored by the American Cancer Society, National Cosmetology Association, and the Cosmetics, Toiletry, and Fragrance Association Foundation.)
A professional cosmetologist gives hints on make-up, hair and nails, and shows how to wear scarves, turbans and hats.

For patients just before, during and just after treatment.
Offered at Palmetto Health Richland and Palmetto Health Baptist four times yearly.

Patient and Family Counseling
Psychosocial staff may provide counseling sessions for patients and their families. Also, special sessions on pain management, stress relief and relaxation are available.

Retreats
Special daylong programs to help patients gain coping skills and share experiences about living with cancer.

Spiritual Care
Chaplains are available to provide spiritual support or connect patients and their families with a minister, rabbi, priest or faith-group leader.

The chapels at both campuses are open 24 hours a day for prayer and meditation.
