There are THREE volunteer programs at Palmetto Health Baptist in which your skills and time can make a difference. Each of these programs shares a common goal of enriching the quality of total patient care. Our Auxiliary Volunteer program helps us staff a variety of areas with volunteers who assist with general duties. Our Personal Touch program provides specialized training to volunteers who wish to give practical and emotional support to patients and their families, in addition to giving staff support. Finally, there are numerous opportunities in our hospice program. A description of each of these volunteer opportunities follows. Membership in the Palmetto Health Baptist Auxiliary is open to individuals who support the objectives of the Volunteer Services Department. Individuals who serve as volunteers typically have time to share, a desire to give of themselves, a strong sense of responsibility and a willingness to be flexible. They should be well adjusted and emotionally stable. The Auxiliary has served Palmetto Health Baptist for more than 30 years. During this time, many men, women and young people have contributed thousands of hours to the various volunteer programs. These programs are continually changing to meet the needs of Palmetto Baptist Medical Center and the community. Volunteer work areas include...
