Dr. Amanda Arrington joined the General Surgery Division of the Department of Surgery at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine in August 2013, following completion of a two year fellowship in Surgical Oncology at the City of Hope Comprehensive Cancer Center in Duarte, California. She completed her B.S. and M.D. at West Virginia University and received her general surgical training and surgical research experience at the University of Minnesota.
Dr. Arrington is board certified in general surgery. She is a candidate member in the American Society of Breast Surgeons, Association for Academic Surgery, American Society of Clinical Oncology, Society for Surgery of the Alimentary Tract, Society of Surgical Oncology, the Association of Women Surgeons, American College of Surgeons and the Minnesota Surgical Society. With over 25 peer-reviewed publications and 19 national/international presentations, she plans to continue clinical outcomes research in the area of surgical oncology, with particular interests on the impact of health care disparities in cancer treatments and outcomes.
