Dr. Sharon Webb joined the faculty of the University of South Carolina School of Medicine in August 2008 after completing a neurotrauma and critical care fellowship at the University of Tennessee/Elvis Presley Memorial Trauma Center in Memphis. Dr. Webb’s appointment to the Department of Neurosurgery brought her back to the University of South Carolina, where she completed her undergraduate and medical education. She received a bachelor of science in chemistry and geology with a concentration in geophysics at the University of South Carolina Honors College, and a doctor of medicine from USC’s School of Medicine. Dr. Webb is a member of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, the Congress of Neurological Surgeons, the Resident and Associate Society of the American College of Surgeons, the National Neurotrauma Society and the Neurocritical Care Society. She is board certified in neurological surgery. Her special interests are neurotrauma, critical care, and vascular neurosurgery. She also is the medical director of the Neurosurgical ICU at Palmetto Health Richland.
