Personal Growth – that comes from meeting and working with others.
New Skills – an opportunity to learn in a new environment.
Experience – which may help when applying for future jobs or choosing a career.
Satisfaction – that comes from community involvement and bringing happiness to others.
The first step in becoming a volunteer is to complete a volunteer application. To apply for available shifts click here and click on Auxiliary in the drop down box to ensure the application is directed to the proper volunteer department, and be sure to note in Volunteer History which position you are applying for. You may also pick an application at the Volunteer Office at Palmetto Health Baptist located at Taylor and Marion Street in Columbia. You may also call the Volunteer office Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at (803) 296-5520 to request an application via regular mail.
Receipt of a completed application will be acknowledged via a letter. If there are questions or missing information, the Volunteer office will write or call you to obtain the complete information required. The office will then send letters requesting references from the personal and medical references you have listed in your application. After the Volunteer office receives feedback from these references, you will be scheduled for a personal interview.
Uniforms are required and may be purchased in the Uniform Shop.
