Columbia Women's Healthcare offers a full range of women's services, from your initial exam through childbirth, menopause and beyond. Our physicians and staff work to provide you with the quality medical care and customer service you deserve.
In addition to delivering more than 600 babies every year, our board-certified physicians also provide services such as minimally invasive gynecological surgery (including robotic-assisted surgery), in-office gynecological procedures and 4-D ultrasound. We also have a maternal fetal medicine specialist to care for high-risk pregnancies.

Our Providers
Myles D. Davis, MD received his Doctorate of Medicine from the University of South Carolina School of Medicine. He completed his internship at the Hospital of Saint Raphael, New Haven, Conn., and he completed his residency at Palmetto Health Richland. He is board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Dr. Davis is a Columbia native and has been in private practice since 1991. He takes pride in delivering thorough and compassionate healthcare. Dr. Davis strives to educate his patients about their care, present them with all their options, and have them take an active role in their healthcare. He specializes in robotic-assisted surgery using the da Vinci Robotic Surgical System and participates in clinical research.
Dr. Davis and his wife, Alison (who is a CRNA) have two sons. They enjoy travel, movies, running, cycling, tennis and the arts.

Mary K. Neuffer, MD received her Doctorate of Medicine from the Medical University of South Carolina. She completed her internship and residency at the University of South Alabama, Mobile, Ala. She is board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Dr. Neuffer has been in practice in Columbia since 1984. Her clinical interests are obstetrical care, well woman gynecology, menopausal healthcare, laparoscopic surgery, treatment of urinary incontinence, abnormal bleeding and contraception management.
She and her husband have three children. She enjoys traveling, cooking, reading and spending time with her family.

Albert E. Odom, MD earned his medical degree from the Medical University of South Carolina, graduating in 1983. He completed his residency at Richland Memorial Hospital where he served as chief resident in 1987. He completed his board certification in 1989 and remains current in his board certification.
Dr. Odom's special interests include painful menses, abnormal uterine bleeding, uterine fibroids, pelvic organ prolapsed, urinary incontinence, endometriosis, and robotic hysterectomy and robotic myomectomy. He is one of the original members of Palmetto Health Baptist Hospital's committee for robotic surgery and one of the most experienced gynecologic robotic surgeons in Columbia.
Dr. Odom is a member of the American College of OB/GYN, American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists, and is past president of the Columbia Medical Society. He also volunteers at the Columbia Free Medical Clinic. He has privileges at Palmetto Health Baptist Hospital.

Alexander R. Smythe, II, MD received his Doctorate of Medicine from the Medical University of South Carolina. He completed his internship at the University of Alabama Hospital and Clinics, Birmingham, Ala., and he completed his residency at the Medical University of South Carolina. He is board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and fellowship-trained in maternal fetal medicine.
Dr. Smythe served as Chief of Maternal Fetal Medicine at Madigan Army Medical Center from 1980–1982. He served as OB-GYN Director of Maternal Fetal Medicine at Palmetto Health Richland from 1982–1985. He has practiced obstetrics and gynecology and maternal fetal medicine at Palmetto Health Baptist since 1985. He also specializes in robotic-assisted surgery using the da Vinci Robotic Surgical System
He and his wife, Gwen, have four children and five grandchildren. He enjoys hunting, golf and spending time at Lake Wateree

To avoid delays, it is advised that you confirm our participation with your health plan before arrival. Please bring your insurance card to ALL visits. To keep your health care costs down, please bring a copy of your health plan's drug formulary so less expensive medication options may be selected for you.

Fees and Insurance?
We accept most insurance plans. If you have a question about our fees or your bill, please call our Physician Practice Billing department at 803-296-7306 and we will assist you. Payment is due when services are rendered. For your convenience we accept cash, checks and credit cards. It is your responsibility to fully understand your coverage benefits and to verify that we are listed as approved providers prior to scheduling an appointment with us.
