Clinical Research Expertise
The Palmetto Health Clinical Trials team handles the financial and contractual issues involved with sponsored clinical trials to insure compliance. We work with all areas of hospital administration and hospital staff to provide quality study implementation and clean, accurate data submission. The Clinical Research division has expertise on necessary procedures to implement the study and work with sponsors to properly budget expenses.

Our association with the University of South Carolina School of Medicine means that much of our investigator base consists of physicians who have clinical research experience. Along with the medical school faculty, we have a close association with physicians in private practice and hospitalists. Our clinical research professionals have many years of experience with clinical trials and have varied healthcare backgrounds providing a wide range research interests.

We currently are accruing subjects for industry-sponsored, government-funded, as well as locally developed and funded clinical research projects.

Staff Expertise
The Clinical Trials department provides project management and centralized budget, planning, and contract processes. The department promotes collaborations between academic faculty and industry sponsors, following the project through to its completion.

Our clinical research professionals provide seamless scheduling, case report form completion, and submissions to the local Institutional Review Board (IRB). The Clinical Trials department provides services ranging from multi-center study coordination to assistance with setting up data management systems and patient recruitment.

Facility Description
Palmetto Health is the largest integrated healthcare system in South Carolina consisting of Palmetto Health Richland, Palmetto Health Baptist, Palmetto Health Children's Hospital, Palmetto Health Heart Hospital, and, in a joint venture with Greenville Hospital System, Baptist Easley Hospital. Additionally, the Palmetto Health Physician Practices provide excellent preventative and specified medical care.

The Clinical Trials Department consists of two suites located on the Palmetto Health Richland campus, with one dedicated solely to patient visits and care.
