Meet Our Team

Bryan Fox, Ph.D., is the Director of Special Projects with the Addiction Recovery Services at Palmetto Health and the Manager of the Adolescent Recovery Center.  He has over 18 years of addiction counseling experience working with adults and adolescents in both inpatient and outpatient settings.  He has taught courses on addiction treatment and prevention at the University of South Carolina and provided clinical instruction for medical residents specific to treating adolescents.  Bryan earned his B.A. in Psychology from Furman University in 1993, a M.Ed. in Rehabilitation Counseling in 1995, and Ph.D. in Motor Development from the University of South Carolina in 2007. 
Craig Mayer, M.Ed., is the program’s homebound coordinator and instructor.  He has been employed with Palmetto Health for over 12 years.  Before coming to the Adolescent Recovery Center, Craig taught at a private school for autistic and emotional disabled students, the SC Department of Juvenile Justice and the in-patient adolescent behavioral care unit at Palmetto Health Baptist. Craig received his Bachelors of Science from Coker College and his Masters of Education from Lesley University. 
Laura L.Truesdale, LISW–CP, is the Program Coordinator for the Palmetto Health Adolescent Recovery Center.  She has held this position since December 2001.  Prior to her current position, she worked as a Behavioral Care social worker on the Latency and Adolescent Inpatient Psychiatric Units at Palmetto Baptist from 1999.   Her undergraduate degrees in Psychology and Sociology were obtained at the College of Charleston in 1995.  She earned her Master of Social Work degree from the University of South Carolina’s College of Social Work in 1998. She is licensed by the South Carolina Board of Social Work Examiners as a Licensed Independent Social Worker.
Katie Wicker, LMSW, is a Social Worker at the Palmetto Health Adolescent Recovery Center.   Prior to her current position, she was a Counselor on the Latency and Adolescent Inpatient Psychiatric Units at Palmetto Health Baptist for seven years.  Katie earned her B.S. in Psychology with a Minor in Sociology from the College of Charleston in 1999 and her Master of Social Work from the University of South Carolina’s College of Social Work in 2007.  She is licensed by the South Carolina Board of Social Work Examiners as a Licensed Master Social Worker, and is currently working towards her LISW-CP.

J.P. Cole, MSW,
completed his bachelor's degree at Limestone College and a Master's Degree in Social Work in 2011 from the University of South Carolina. During his graduate field placement, he interned in the Day IOP group and started working as a contract employee in the Day, Evening, and Adolescent IOP groups.

Timothy Malone, MD, has been the medical director of the Adult Recovery Center Since 2009. Earning his BA in physics from the College of Charleston in 1986 he later obtained his medical degree from the University of South Carolina's School of Medicine in 1993. He is Board Certified in Adult Psychiatry and Addiction Medicine. Dr. Malone provides inpatient and outpatient care as well as maintaining a private practice and teaching role at the University of South Carolina's School of Medicine.
