Staff Bios

Our Staff

Tom Manning, LMSW has had the title of Program Coordinator and Program Manager during his nine years at the Recovery Center. His employment history includes various clinical positions and directorships in substance abuse treatment programs, the last position culminated in the position of Executive Director before relocating from Michigan to South Carolina. He has an Associate Degree in Liberal Arts and a Masters Degree in Clinical Social Work which he obtained from the University of Michigan in 1983. Tom is currently licensed in the state of South Carolina and in Michigan.

 

 

Katie Turman, LMSW has been with the Addiction Recovery Center since 2003. She graduated from Columbia College with a bachelor's degree in Social Work in 2002. Afterwards she attended the College of Social Work at the University of South Carolina and graduated with honors. She became licensed in 2005 and is currently working on national credentialing to be a Master Addictions Counselor.

 

 
 

Stacey Thompson, MA LPC has been one of our Clinical Counselors since 2006 where she began as an intern in her early training. She graduated from Longwood University with a B.S. degree in Therapeutic Recreation, minor in Psychology in 1989. She later made a career change after working as a Recreational Therapist in a rehabilitation center and attended Columbia International University. It is there, in 2006, that she obtained her M.A. degree in Clinical Counseling. She is a licensed professional counselor and an AFAA Personal Trainer.

 

William "Bill" Hunter, RNADN graduated from Orangeburg Calhoun Technical School in 1993 and has been with the Adult Addictions Recovery Center since September 2010. Work experiences include nurse manager at Palmetto Health Richland and Baptist Memorial Hospital. He has also worked as the Electroconvulsive Shock Therapy Coordinator at Richland Memorial Hospital. Prior to Palmetto Health he was employed with Greenville Memorial and Providence Hospital systems where he specialized in cardiac procedures.

 

Tenessa B. Wilson, MHSA obtained a bachelor of science in Exercise Science from the University of South Carolina in 2005 and a Master of Health Services Administration from Strayer University in 2010. She has been the program coordinator for the Adult Addiction Recovery Center since February 2010. Prior to joining the Addiction Recovery team, she served as an Exercise Specialist with the Palmetto Health Baptist Weight Management facility and became the liaison between the Weight Management Center and the University of South Carolina Exercise Science Department.
