Palmetto Surgical Associates was established in 1991. Our physicians are specialists in all types of general surgery, including breast cancer, colon, endocrine, vascular and hernia surgery, with many performed laparoscopically. Drs. Metropol and Mirra pride themselves on keeping abreast of the most recent developments in all areas of their field. Palmetto Surgical Associates is accepting new patients.
 
Appointments
A physician referral is required. Our office hours are Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Fridays 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Our Providers

	Stephen Metropol, MD Dr. Metropol is a graduate of the Medical University of South Carolina and Duke University. He completed his residency at North Carolina Baptist Hospital. Dr. Metropol is board certified by the American Board of Surgery.
	Martin Mirra, MD Dr. Mirra is a graduate of the North Carolina School of Medicine and Duke University. He completed his residency at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine. Dr. Mirra is board certified by the American Board of Surgery.

What to bring to your appointment
Patients should bring their insurance cards, a picture ID and a complete list of all medications they are taking. Or, you may wish to bring your medications with you. We may also ask you to bring films from another hospital or doctor's office if necessary.
