Palmetto Health has multiple pharmacies that provide services to inpatients, outpatients, and patients enrolled in the Palmetto Senior Care program. In providing pharmacy services, our goal is simple: to provide the care and compassion we want for our families and ourselves.
Inpatient Pharmacy Services
We have more than 130 pharmacy employees on staff including pharmacists and pharmacy technicians. Our pharmacies process in excess of 2,000 medication orders each day. Every order is reviewed by a pharmacist to maximize safety and therapeutic outcomes.
Many pharmacists are available in patient care units throughout our hospitals who specialize in medication management specific to those patients. They work together with physicians, nurses, and other members of the healthcare team to maximize each patient's safety as well as medication therapy outcomes. These pharmacists also perform medication teaching for inpatients. They are available upon your request to answer questions about medications you are receiving in the hospital (or may be continuing once you leave the hospital). Please feel free let your nurse or physician know if you would like to speak with one.
