About Our Practice
Welcome to Atrium Ridge Internal Medicine. Our staff strives to provide patients with the best service possible. We pride ourselves on meeting our patients' needs and addressing their health care concerns in a professional atmosphere. Located in northeast Columbia, we are convenient to I-77 and I-20.
Our practice is recognized by the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) as a Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH). The Patient-Centered Medical Home is a health care setting that emphasizes partnerships between individual patients and their personal physicians, and when appropriate, the patients' families.
What is an Internist?
Internists are trained to have a personal and long-term commitment to patients, broad knowledge and skill in diagnosis and treatment, and a caring bedside manner. Internists treat both common and complex illnesses and offer high quality primary care to adults and adolescents. They provide continuing care for their patients in the office, during hospitalization (in concert with a hospitalist) and other long-term care. Internists serve as coordinators of patient care when other medical specialists, such as surgeons, are involved.
