Palmetto Health is focused on and dedicated to improving the quality of the care provided to our patients and to the elimination of medical errors that occur in our hospitals. Our efforts extend beyond the walls of our hospitals as we seek best practices from organizations across the state and nation who are engaged in the same.

The Institute for Healthcare Improvement has granted mentor status to Palmetto Health for Catheter-associated urinary tract infection and Governance and Improvement. Palmetto Health Richland also has mentor status for Surgical site infection prevention. Organizations on the Mentor Hospital Registry have volunteered to provide support, advice, clinical expertise, and tops to hospitals seeking help with their quality improvement implementation efforts.
