How We Measure Quality

Palmetto Health measures clinical quality — outcomes of the medical and surgical care that we provide our patients — and the quality of the satisfaction of the patients to whom we're providing services. We monitor key factors monthly and publish them for our staff, our physicians, and the public — knowing that as we are transparent about our data, our efforts to continually improve will go on. We're proud of our results in many areas. Others require added efforts. All will continue to have our focused attention. Please look at our results in this section.

Palmetto Health has significantly reduced mortality in our hospitals since 2006. Nationally we rank in the top 10 percent of all hospitals in the nation in reductions in mortality.

We are measured by national and statewide organizations. Our data is publicly reported by a variety of them and links to those sites can be found in the "How Others Measure Us" section.
