Because visitation for patients at Palmetto Health Richland is an important part of recovery, visits by families and friends are welcome during regular visiting hours except in special care areas (see Critical Care Visitation) where some restrictions apply. Routine visiting hours are 11 a.m.–8:30 p.m.
Critical Care Visitation
Critical Care visitation guidelines are meant to promote patient and family comfort and allow for timely patient care. Children under 13 years of age are not permitted on the hospital's fifth floor. We request that if you have children under 13 with you, have one of your friends or family members wait with the child in the second floor lobby. Visitation is restricted to two immediate family members at a time.
Critical Care visitation times for the Surgical/Trauma Intensive Care Unit are:
- 5:30–6 a.m.
- 8:30–9 a.m.
- 1–1:30 p.m.
- 5–5:30 p.m.
- 8:30–9 p.m.
Visitation times for the Medical Intensive Care Unit are:
