Cancer Centers

The Palmetto Health Cancer Centers in Columbia, is one of the most comprehensive cancer programs in the Southeast, with 2,500 patients diagnosed and treated each year. Through an interdisciplinary effort, composed of physicians, researchers and health care professionals from Palmetto Health Richland, Palmetto Health Baptist, and the University of South Carolina, the Cancer Center strives to deliver unsurpassed clinical services, conduct basic and translational research, and sponsor cancer prevention and control programs.
The Cancer Center is approved by the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer (ACoS CoC) as the first Network (multisite) Cancer Program in South Carolina. The 2010 Accreditation Award – Three Years with Commendation, singled out achievements in seven standards of the ACoS CoC.
We offer adult medical, surgical and pediatric oncology services, radiation therapy, Gamma Knife stereotactic radiosurgery, gynecological oncology, and support programs for the patient and his/her family.
When faced with a cancer diagnosis, a patient and his/her family are offered the latest treatments available and the caring, personal attention of our health care team. We invite you to learn more about cancer and the many services available to our patients, their families and the community.
