Lifestyle University
What is Lifestyle University?
In Lifestyle University, you will learn during six classes how to make positive changes through hands-on activities and group discussion. Upon completion of the program some participants have even been able to reduce their drug therapy.
The course is led by trained peers who have graduated from the program and received additional training in teaching about lifestyle changes and achieving hypertension control.
How does it work?
Blood pressure and weight are measured in each class to track progress. Healthy snacks are provided. For Additional hypertension care, referals to the Center for Senior Hypertension are available. Lifestyle University is a $200 value, but currently is free to all participants.
Do I need a referral for Lifestyle University?
A physician referral is not required for particiation in Lifestyle University.

Class 1 – Thursday, January 5
Class 2 – Thursday, January 19
Class 3 – Thursday, February 2
Class 4 – Thursday, February 16
Class 5 – Thursday, March 1
Class 6 – Thursday, March 15
*Attendance at all six classes is strongly recommended.
Classes will be held from 2:30 – 5 p.m. with blood pressure and weight screeings open from 1:45 – 2:30 p.m. Lifestyle University classes will be held at Palmetto Health Baptist, 1501 Sumter St., ground level, Classroom A & B.
Classes currently are offered in Lexington and Richland counties.
