August 18, 6 p.m. – Light Refreshments | Auditorium, Palmetto Health Baptist
Your new baby has finally arrived! It's one of the happiest moments of your life. So why do you feel like crying? Depression after pregnancy is common. The Baby Blues occurs to some degree in the majority of women up to two weeks after delivery. While less common, Postpartum Depression causes significant suffering in a new mother. Fortunately, there are many treatment options available that will help you better care for yourself and your new bundle of joy.
Psychiatrist Stephanie L. Berg, MD, with The Women's Emotional Health Center at Midlands Psychiatry, will discuss common mood disorders during and after pregnancy, signs of Postpartum Depression, and a variety of effective treatment options.
