About Our Practice
Welcome to Midlands Internal Medicine. We have been a part of the Northeast Columbia community for more than nine years. Our office staff takes pride in providing 100 percent patient satisfaction to all of our patients.
Our practice is recognized by the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) as a Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH). The Patient-Centered Medical Home is a health care setting that emphasizes partnerships between individual patients and their personal physicians, and when appropriate, the patients’ families. We also have been recognized by NCQA for providing high-quality diabetes and stroke care.
What is an Internist?
Internists are trained to have a personal and long-term commitment to patients, broad knowledge and skill in diagnosis and treatment, and a caring bedside manner. Internists treat both common and complex illnesses and offer high quality primary care to adults and adolescents. They provide continuing care for their patients in the office, during hospitalization (in concert with a hospitalist) and other long-term care. Internists serve as coordinators of patient care when other medical specialists, such as surgeons, are involved.
