Cribs for Kids

Cribs for Kids® of the Midlands helps educate new parents about Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) and the dangers of unsafe sleep practices in infants throughout the Midlands. To help babies sleep safe, we offer important safety messages and give away a safety-approved Graco Pack-N-Play® to income-eligible families. Our education materials are available for professionals, parents and educators.
Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) is the sudden death of an infant under one year of age, which remains unexplained after a thorough investigation including: an autopsy; examination of the death scene and review of the clinical history (National SUIDS/SIDS Resource Center). SIDS is the third leading cause of death in South Carolina for infants zero to one year of age and the leading cause of death in infants greater than one month to one year of age.
