Preparing for Surgery
Because total joint patients are part of their own “care team,” it is
important that patients understand the surgery and rehab process as well their
role in the process. When patients are scheduled for total joint surgery,
they receive a patient education manual that includes:
- Detailed diagrams
- Information about surgery and recovery
- Descriptions and diagrams of rehabilitation exercises
Total Joint Pre-Operative Class
Patients and their coaches attend a pre-operative class that explains:
- How to prepare for joint replacement surgery
- What to expect during the hospital stay
- Physical and occupational therapy
- Discharge planning
Click here to download a map with directions on where to come for both pre-operative education and on the day of surgery.
