What makes us special?

At the Palmetto Health Breast Center, our dedication to improving women's health has earned us the status of Breast Imaging Center of Excellence, awarded by the American College of Radiology (ACR). We have achieved the ACR high standards for quality, personnel, and equipment.

The National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers has granted Palmetto Health Breast Center full accreditation, making it the first fully accredited breast center in the South Carolina. The program, administered by the American College of Surgeons, awarded the Breast Center a three-year, full accreditation in 2009 and again in 2012 with re-accreditation. Accreditation by the program ensures that patients will have access to:

• Comprehensive care, including a full range of services
• Multidisciplinary team approach to coordinate the best treatment options
• Breast Cancer Conferences
• Nurse Navigators
• Information about ongoing clinical trials
• Quality breast care close to home

Thank you!  The 22nd annual Palmetto Health Foundation Walk for Life/Race for Life, which included the inaugural 10K Race for Life, was a tremendous success. More than 6,000 walkers and runners participated in this event on Saturday, Oct. 6, 2012. Together, participants helped raise more than $550,000, including in-kind donations, for the Palmetto Health Breast Center!
