Palmetto Healthy Start

Palmetto Healthy Start (PHS) is a member of the national Healthy Start initiative, a free program that encourages moms-to-be to begin prenatal care as soon as they become pregnant. The PHS team will support you throughout pregnancy and through your child's second birthday.

Palmetto Healthy Start services include:

  • Evaluation of social and environmental needs
  • Coordination of needed care and services
  • Home visitation service
  • Physician referrals for pregnant women and infants
  • Parenting and repeat pregnancy education
  • Monthly community support group meetings
  • Increased availability of OB and pediatric providers
  • Access to comprehensive substance abuse evaluation and treatment services
  • Fatherhood/Male Involvement Initiative
  • Childbirth and infant CPR classes
  • Oral health services
