NASCAR Driver Ryan Reed to Visit Palmetto Health Children’s Hospital
Shares inspiring story of racing with type 1 diabetes

EVENT: Professional NASCAR driver Ryan Reed visits Palmetto Health Children’s Hospital

WHEN: Wednesday, April 9

TIME: 2 p.m.

ABOUT: NASCAR driver Ryan Reed, 20, will visit Palmetto Health Children’s Hospital Wednesday, April 9, to visit with children and discuss his journey racing with type 1 diabetes.

In February 2011, Reed received the life-changing news that he had type 1 diabetes and was told he would never race again. Reed refused to give up his dream of racing and has since become an inspiration for millions of people living with the disease by continuing to pursue his goals while managing his diabetes.
