Safe Kids Midlands and Kohl’s Hosts Field Day at YMCA in Lexington

100 Kohl’s associates from 15 stores share field day with children and present check for children’s safety programs

EVENT: Kohl’s Associates In Action Play Day

WHEN: Wednesday, June 12

TIME: 9 a.m.-2 p.m.

PLACE: Lexington Family YMCA, 401 YMCA Road

ABOUT: More than 100 Kohl’s associates from 15 South Carolina stores will join 220 YMCA campers for a field day event focused on helping children be more active through activities such as a bike rodeo, potato sack race, dizzy bat competition, egg on a spoon game, kickball, volleyball and more. The event also will educate children about bike helmet safety and water safety. Safe Kids Midlands will distribute bicycle helmets and backpacks.

Blake Amick, manager of Kohl’s in Irmo, said, “Kohl’s believes in giving back to the communities we serve, not just with money and resources, but with time and talent. We are looking to inspire and engage children.”

The event will provide a $15,000 donation to Safe Kids Midlands, led by Palmetto Health Children’s Hospital, and $15,000 for the Lexington Family YMCA.
