Fatherhood Initiative encourages Fathers to be Strong Role Models
Calling all dads! Palmetto Health invites fathers to attend a free Fatherhood Symposium, “Second Chance: Getting Back on Track,” on Tuesday, March 26, from 4:30–7:30 p.m. at Palmetto Health Baptist, 1501 Sumter St., in the first-floor auditorium. Participants will have the opportunity to share with other fathers and experts about the role they have in their family, along with specific discussions about record expungement and reproductive health. Dinner will be provided and transportation is available for Palmetto Healthy Start participants.
The symposium is part of Palmetto Health’s Fatherhood Initiative, which is available in Fairfield, Richland, Lexington and Sumter counties. The program encourages men through educational events, counseling and classes to take a strong role as a parent. Many participants credit this initiative as being instrumental in their ability to strengthen their family dynamics and relationships with their children.
Palmetto Healthy Start is a federally funded program offered by Palmetto Health. It is supported in part by Maternal and Child Health Bureau, Health Resources and Services Administration and the Department of Human Services.
