Four nurses from Palmetto Health have been selected to receive the 2013 Palmetto Gold award. Each year, the South Carolina Nurses Foundation selects 100 nurses from across the state to receive the Palmetto Gold award for their excellence in nursing and their commitment to the nursing profession.
Palmetto Health is proud to congratulate the 2013 Palmetto Gold winners: Lea Moser, Midlands Internal Medicine; Deborah Moultrie, Midlands Partnership; Kelly R. Smith, Post-Anesthesia Care Unit at Palmetto Health Baptist; and Emmanuel Taylor, Nursing Administration at Palmetto Health Richland.
Kristen Dickens, nursing workforce engagement partner at Palmetto Health, is excited about the recognition. “This is a remarkable group of individuals who touch the lives of so many people,” said Dickens. “Palmetto Health thanks them for the passion and commitment they bring every day to care for our patients and their families.”
The Palmetto Gold award is part of the Palmetto Gold Nurse Recognition and Scholarship Program. Nurses receiving the award must meet the following criteria:
• Promotes and advances the profession of nursing in a positive way in the practice setting or in the community.
• Contributes to overall outcomes in the practice area/setting.
• Displays caring and commitment to patients, families and colleagues.
• Demonstrates leadership and assists others in growth and development.
