 Charles D. Beaman, Jr. – Chief Executive Officer

John J. Singerling III

John J. Singerling III – President, Palmetto Health
John J. Singerling III has been with Palmetto Health since 1996 and became president of Palmetto Health on October 12, 2010. He previously was executive vice president and chief operating officer for Palmetto Health Richland. He also has served as vice president of operations for Palmetto Health Richland. Prior to that, he worked as corporate director of planning and system development and assistant to the president and CEO for Palmetto Health. Singerling earned a bachelor's degree from Michigan State University and a master's degree in Health Administration from the University of South Carolina.
 

Judy Baskins

Judy Baskins – Physician Practices/Ambulatory Care Executive, Palmetto Health
Judy Baskins is the Physician Practice, Ambulatory Care Executive for Palmetto Health. She currently is responsible for the Palmetto Health Physician Network and Ambulatory Services at Palmetto Health. Ms. Baskins was the founding president and chair of the National PACE Association (NPA) Board and she remains a member of the NPA Board, the NPA Public Policy Committee and the NPA Research Committee. She is a recipient of the USC School of Nursing outstanding alumni award and member of the Practice Change Fellowship Board, a national board funded by the John A Hartford and the Atlantic Philanthropic Foundations. 

Marty Bridges – Chief, System Performance, Palmetto Health
Marty Bridges currently serves as Chief, System Performance for Palmetto Health. Bridges has served in various administrative and financial roles since he joined South Carolina Baptist Hospital in 1979. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Clemson University and an MS in Business Administration from the University of South Carolina. 

Eric A. Brown, MD

Eric A. Brown, MD – Physician Executive, Palmetto Health Richland
Dr. Eric A. Brown has served as Physician Executive for Palmetto Health Richland since February 2014. He is also Director of the Palmetto Health-University of South Carolina School of Medicine Simulation Center and a board certified Emergency Medicine physician, faculty member with the Palmetto Health Emergency Medicine Residency Program and Fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians. Dr. Brown completed his baccalaureate at Duke University and earned his medical degree at Boston University School of Medicine. He completed his residency in Emergency Medicine in 2003 at Palmetto Health Richland. Dr. Brown is married to Dr. Rachel Brown, a family physician in Columbia, and has two young daughters, Adelaide and Eliza. 

Rob Brinkerhoff

Robert Brinkerhoff – System Vice President of Human Resources, Palmetto Health
Robert (Rob) Brinkerhoff is the System Vice President of Human Resources for Palmetto Health. He joined Palmetto Health in 2012 and has more than fifteen years of experience in Healthcare Human Resources leadership. Prior to joining Palmetto Health, he was a Corporate Director of Human Resources for the Orlando Health Physicians Group and Vice President of Human Resources for Winter Haven Hospital. He earned a bachelor's degree from The Florida State University and a Masters in Public Administration from the University of Central Florida. He is certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR), Certified Benefits Professional (CBP), and Certified Compensation Professional (CCP). 

Ron Carroll

Ronald L. Carroll, Ph.D., FACHE – System Vice President, Support Services, Palmetto Health
Ron Carroll has served as the System Vice President for Support Services at Palmetto Health since 1987. Originally from Springfield, Missouri, Dr. Carroll received his BS from Southwest Missouri State College and his master’s and Ph.D. from the University of South Carolina. He is a Fellow with the American College of Healthcare Executives, member of the South Carolina Hospital Association and active in various community organizations. Dr. Carroll and his wife Pamela have one son, Matthew.

Karen Coker

Karen Coker – Nurse Executive, Palmetto Health Baptist
Karen Coker is Nurse Executive for Palmetto Health Baptist. She joined Palmetto Health Baptist in 1984 as Director of Behavioral Care, serving in that position for 29 years. Karen has been a nurse for over 40 years, with 35 years in nursing leadership roles. She is a graduate of the University South Carolina with associate's, bachelor’s and master’s degrees in nursing. Prior to Palmetto Health she worked in public health nursing, inpatient pediatric and medical-surgical nursing and at mental health centers in Florida and South Carolina. She was the first recipient of the Palmetto Health Lead by Example Award in 2009, and is currently President-Elect for the South Carolina Organization of Nurse Leaders. Karen likes to spend her free time with her two young granddaughters and enjoy the beautiful South Carolina beaches. She is proud that her daughter is also a Palmetto Health team member and hopes her granddaughters follow in their footsteps. 

Benjamin M. Cunningham, Jr. – System Vice President of Finance, Palmetto Health
Benjamin (Ben) M. Cunningham, Jr., is the System Vice President of Finance for Palmetto Health. He joined Palmetto Health in 2001 and has more than sixteen years of experience in healthcare management, consulting and auditing. Prior to joining Palmetto Health, he was an audit manager with Arthur Anderson LLP where his primary areas of focus were serving clients in the healthcare and manufacturing industry. He earned a bachelor's degree in business administration, majoring in accounting, from the University of South Carolina and is a certified public accountant. 

Paul Duane – Chief Financial Officer, Palmetto Health
Paul Duane is chief financial officer for Palmetto Health. He joined Palmetto Health in 2000 and has more than 20 years of healthcare finance experience. Most recently, he was senior vice president and chief financial officer for ViaHealth in Rochester, N.Y. Duane earned a bachelor’s degree from State University of New York and is a certified public accountant. 

Michelle Edwards

Michelle Edwards – Chief Information Officer, Palmetto Health
Michelle Edwards is chief information officer for Palmetto Health. Prior to this position, she was Palmetto Health's corporate director for clinical applications. Edwards graduated from Midlands Technical College with an Associate Degree in Respiratory Care. She earned her Bachelor's Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from the University of South Carolina and is currently enrolled at Strayer University toward a Masters Degree in Healthcare Administration. 

Vince Ford

Vince Ford – Chief Community Health Services Officer, Palmetto Health
Vince Ford is chief community health services officer for Palmetto Health Community Health and is responsible for Palmetto Health’s $17 million tithe to the community for health issues. Ford had been working under the auspices of Richland Memorial Hospital since April 21, 1997. Prior to that, he was the executive director of the Boys and Girls Clubs of the Midlands. Ford earned a bachelor’s degree from Benedict College and a master’s degree in individual and family development from S.C. State University. 

Gattman

Gregory Gattman – Acute Care Executive, Palmetto Health Baptist
Greg Gattman is the acute care executive for Palmetto Health Baptist. He most recently served as system vice president of clinical services at Palmetto Health and previously held executive roles in clinical operations and service line leadership. Prior to joining Palmetto Health in 1995, he held senior administrative positions in Ohio, Illinois and Missouri in acute care and psychiatric hospitals. Gattman received a bachelor of science degree from DePauw University and a masters degree in hospital and health services administration from The Ohio State University.  He is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives and is celebrating 30 years in healthcare administration. 

Julian Gibbons – Chief Government Affairs and Community Relations Officer, Palmetto Health
Julian Gibbons is the chief community and governmental relations officer for Palmetto Health. Prior to that, Gibbons served as director of public relations and marketing for Palmetto Health. Gibbons has a Bachelor of Arts degree from the School of Journalism from the University of South Carolina. 

Jay Hamm

Jay Hamm – Acute Care Executive, Palmetto Health Richland 
Jay Hamm is the acute care executive at Palmetto Health Richland. Most recently he served as System Vice President of Clinical Operations at Palmetto Health. He previously was the Administrator, Patient Care Services, at the University of Virginia Health System in Charlottesville, Virginia, responsible for surgical and anesthesia services, critical care air and ground transport, emergency services and emergency management. He has been a medical professional for 25 years and has held several management and executive leadership roles. Hamm earned bachelor of science degrees in nursing and biology and a masters of health administration degree all from the University of South Carolina. He is a fellow in the American College of Health Care Executives and is a member of Delta Omega, an honorary society in Public Health. 

Pamela Hardy

Pamela Hardy – Corporate Learning Officer, Palmetto Health
Pamela Hardy is the corporate learning officer for Palmetto Health, where she leads the creation of a comprehensive system-wide learning, education and innovation strategy and structure. She heads the Leadership Institute and Organization Development teams, where she seeks to cultivate the skills and talents of leaders, team members and physicians. Prior to her role at Palmetto Health, Pamela served as Assistant Vice President, Organization and Talent Development at Inova Health system in Falls Church, Va., where she was responsible for the organization’s leadership development, organization development, employee engagement, talent management, change management, training and professional development for all team members and physicians. She has previously served in leadership roles at Marriott International and SAIC, as well as Fortune 500 organizations including Verizon and Xerox Corporation. 

Dr. Greta Harper

Greta Setzer Harper, MD, MBA, FAAP – Physician Executive, Palmetto Health Physician Practices/Ambulatory Care
Dr. Greta S. Harper currently serves as Physician Executive, Physician Practices and Ambulatory Care at Palmetto Health. Prior to this role, she served as the Vice President of Clinical Affairs for the Palmetto Health Physician Practice Network.  She earned her medical degree from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill School of Medicine in 1984. In June 1985, Dr. Harper completed an internship in family practice and proceeded to complete residency training in pediatrics at Palmetto Health and served as chief resident in 1987. Dr. Harper completed a fellowship in Pediatric Critical Care Medicine at the University of Florida, Jacksonville Medical Center in 1990. For many years, she served as the Associate Senior Medical Director at Palmetto Health Children’s Hospital and Co-Medical Director of Pediatric Critical Care Medicine. In 2009 she earned her MBA from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, in preparation for her current physician executive role. Dr. Harper is board certified and practices medicine as a pediatric intensivist at Palmetto Health Children’s Hospital. She is the mother of two daughters, Alanna and Arielle, and married to James H. Harper. 

William "Tripp" Jennings, MD – System Vice President, Medical Informatics Officer, Palmetto Health
Dr. William "Tripp" Jennings, is system vice president, medical informatics officer for Palmetto Health. Dr. Jennings has served as chief medical informatics officer for the Palmetto Health Quality Collaborative and medical director for the South Carolina Department of Health and Human Services. He is a Fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians and past-president for the South Carolina College of Emergency Physicians. Dr. Jennings' undergraduate degree is from the College of Charleston and his medical degree from the University of South Carolina School of Medicine. His Biomedical Informatics degree is from Oregon Health and Sciences University and his specialty training in Emergency Medicine was completed at Palmetto Health. 

Sarah Richter

Sarah Richter Kirby – Acute Care Executive, Palmetto Health Baptist Parkridge
Sarah Kirby is acute care executive for Palmetto Health Baptist Parkridge. Prior to joining Palmetto Health, she was director of patient care services/chief nursing officer for Hillcrest Memorial Hospital at Greenville Hospital System University Medical Center. She has held several staff nursing positions, as well as leadership positions during her 20 years in the healthcare profession. Kirby earned her Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from James Madison University and her Master of Science degree in nursing from Troy State University with a minor in nursing administration. 

James Lathren

James Lathren – Chief Operating Officer, Acute Care Services, Palmetto Health
Jim Lathren is the chief operating officer for Palmetto Health's acute care services. He earned his bachelor of science degree from The Citadel, a master of business administration from Southern Illinois University and a master of public health from Duke University. Before assuming his current position he was president of the Leadership Institute at Palmetto Health and chief operating officer at Palmetto Health Richland. Prior to that he served as chief executive officer at Atlanta Medical Center, regional director for mergers and acquisitions at Tenet Corporation and chief executive officer at Central Carolina Hospital. 

Mark Loos

Mark Loos – Chief Strategic Planning & Business Development Officer, Palmetto Health
Mark Loos is chief strategic planning and business development officer at Palmetto Health. Prior to joining Palmetto Health, he was senior vice president and chief medical surgical services officer for University Hospitals-Case Medical Center in Cleveland, Ohio. He has held several clinical operations and business development roles during his 20 years as a healthcare executive at The Reading Hospital and Medical Center, West Reading, PA, Atlantic Health System, Florham Park, NJ and Children's Hospital of Michigan, Detroit, MI. Loos earned a bachelor's degree in social work from Eastern Michigan University and an Master of Hospital and Health Administration from Xavier University. He is a Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives. 

Mark Mayson, MD

Mark Mayson, MD – Physician Executive, Palmetto Health Baptist
Dr. Mark Mayson has served as the Physician Executive for Palmetto Health Baptist since March 2013. A member of the Palmetto Health team since 1994, he is also the medical director of Palmetto Health Baptist’s intensive care unit and respiratory therapy and serves as system vice president of quality for Palmetto Health. Dr. Mayson received his medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, and completed his residency at Memorial Medical Center in Savannah, Ga. He specializes in pulmonary disease at Palmetto Pulmonary. 

Todd Miller

Todd Miller – Chief Marketing and Communications Officer, Palmetto Health
Todd Miller, a North Carolina native, is chief marketing and communications officer for Palmetto Health. Prior to coming to Palmetto Health, he was a 25-year marketing, advertising and communications executive in a career that included positions at Deutsch, Inc. in New York and Sharp HealthCare, San Diego, where he served as senior vice president of marketing and communications.
 

Jennifer Risinger

Jennifer Risinger, MD – Physician Executive, Palmetto Health Baptist Parkridge
Dr. Jennifer Risinger has served as Physician Executive for Palmetto Health Baptist Parkridge since February 2014. She also is a System Vice President with oversight over Risk Management and Regulatory. Prior to coming to Parkridge, she was the Physician Executive for Palmetto Health Richland for 2 years. Dr. Risinger, a board certified OBGYN and Fellow in the American College of OBGYN, is a practicing member of the Parkridge OBGYN group and a clinical faculty member for the USC Department of OBGYN. Dr. Risinger completed her baccalaureate at Eastern Illinois University and earned her medical degree from the University of Illinois. She completed her residency in OBGYN in 1997 at Indiana University Medical Center. Dr. Risinger is married to Greg Risinger, a Certified Financial Planner with First Citizens Securities in Columbia and is also the proud mom of three children:  Rachael, Madeleine and Mitchell

James Raymond MD

James I. Raymond, MD – Chief Medical & Academic Officer, Palmetto Health
Dr. Jim Raymond is chief medical and academic officer for Palmetto Health. Prior to this position, Dr. Raymond was senior vice president of Quality, Medical Education and Research for Palmetto Health. Before that, Dr. Raymond was senior vice president of Medical Education and Research at Palmetto Health Richland. Prior to that, he was director of the Emergency Medicine Center, a position he had held since 1980. Raymond earned a bachelor’s degree from Gettysburg College, Pennsylvania; a master’s degree in physical chemistry from the University of Virginia; and a medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. 

Caroline Seigler

Caroline Seigler – System Vice President, Clinical Informatics Officer, Palmetto Health
Caroline N. Seigler is currently a System Vice President and Clinical Informatics Officer. She previously served in various administrative roles for Baptist Medical Center, including Chief Nursing Officer. She is a graduate of the University of South Carolina College of Nursing, where she received both her BSN and MN degrees. Seigler is an active alumna, serving on the College of Nursing Partnership Board, and is a recipient of the college's Outstanding Alumni Award. She is also active in numerous professional associations and is a Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives, as well as being active in community organizations and serving on the Sistercare board of directors. 

Kathy Stephens

Katherine G. Stephens, PhD – System Vice President, Medical Education and Research, Palmetto Health
Dr. Stephens has been with Palmetto Health since 1998 and is currently System Vice President for Medical Education and Research. She also serves as the Designated Institutional Official for the Palmetto Health/University of South Carolina School of Medicine graduate medical education programs. Her previous experience includes leadership roles in human resources, organization development, public relations, and managed care business development. Dr. Stephens is a past president of the Association for Hospital Medical Education and is a volunteer site visitor for the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education. She is a past chair of the South Carolina Wildlife Federation and a recipient of its F. Bartow Culp Distinguished Service Award. She holds degrees from Clemson University (BS) and the University of South Carolina (MBA and PhD) and is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives. She is a faculty member in the School of Medicine of the University of South Carolina. 

Carolyn Swinton – Chief Nursing Officer, Palmetto Health
Carolyn Swinton has worked in nursing for 22 years, with 19 years in nursing management, including serving as Palmetto Health Richland’s vice president and chief nursing officer. She is active with many professional organizations, including the American Organization of Nurse Executives and the American College of Healthcare Executives. Swinton also has received awards, including the Amy V. Cockcroft Excellence in Leadership award in 2008 and the 2005 Palmetto Gold award. Swinson is passionate about leadership development, communication and conflict resolution and has presented on these topics for various groups across the state, as well as Washington, DC and Alabama. Swinton is from Beaufort, SC. She is married to John and has two children, Jeffrey and Cara. She loves to cook, read, and travel. 

Deborah Tapley

Deborah J. Tapley – System Vice President, Clinical Operations, Palmetto Health
Deborah Tapley currently serves as the System Vice President for Clinical Operations. Previously, Ms. Tapley was Director of Pharmaceutical Services and Clinical Nutrition from 1988 to 2008. She joined Palmetto Health Richland in 1978 as a Pharmacy Resident in Health System Pharmacy, completed the residency program in 1979, and served in several roles prior to becoming Director. She is active in many professional organizations and has received both the SC Health System Pharmacist of the Year and SC Pharmaceutical Association Pharmacist of the year awards. Ms. Tapley completed her batchelor of science degree in pharmaceutical science at the University of Connecticut and her master's degree in business administration at the University of South Carolina.

Howard West

Howard West – Chief Legal Officer, Palmetto Health
Howard West is chief legal officer for Palmetto Health. West is a former vice president for corporate services and general counsel at Palmetto Health Richland. He joined the hospital in 1979 as an administrative resident. West earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of North Carolina. He also earned a master’s degree in hospital administration from the University of Alabama in Birmingham. West earned his law degree from the University of Virginia. 

Lynn Wythe

Lynn Wythe – Nurse Executive, Palmetto Health Baptist Parkridge
Lynn Wythe is the Nurse Executive at Palmetto Health Baptist Parkridge. She most recently served as the Director of Nursing for Perioperative Services prior to helping plan and open the Parkridge campus. A graduate of the University of South Carolina College of Nursing, Wythe also received her Master of Science in Nursing and her certificate as a Nurse Practitioner from the University of South Carolina. She grew up in Aiken, South Carolina, is married to David and has one son, Stephen.
