For almost two decades, at the Palmetto Health Breast Center, teams of surgeons, oncologists, breast imaging specialists/radiologists, genetics counselors, pathologists, nurses and others meet weekly to evaluate and recommend courses of treatment for all newly diagnosed patients. Our team approach means that patients receive the benefit of an enormous amount of combined experience, expertise and brainpower in planning and evaluating their treatment. This team approach has raised the standard for breast cancer diagnosis, planning and treatment in the Midlands.
Breast Cancer Nurse Navigators
Breast Cancer Nurse Navigators – Patient Educators individually educate and support our patients from the point of their diagnosis throughout the end of their medical treatment. Nurse Navigators are patient educators and advocates, care coordinators, system navigators, and community ambassadors on a mission to improve the cancer experience for the individual diagnosed patient by being a support system for the patient and their family at a critical time.
Plan to be at the Palmetto Health Foundation Walk for Life/Race for Life on October 17, 2015!
The 24th annual Palmetto Health Foundation Walk for Life/Race for Life held on Saturday, Oct. 18, 2014, drew more than 11,000 walkers and runners to Finlay Park and surrounding streets in Columbia. The event raised $800,000, including in-kind donations for Palmetto Health Breast Center. Thank you to all of the participants, donors, sponsors, volunteers and other supporters for making the 2014 Walk for Life/Race for Life a huge success!
