In honor of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October, Palmetto Health’s Office of Community Health is offering free clinical breast exams Monday, Oct. 14, and Monday, Oct. 28. The exams will be held at the Palmetto Health Women’s Clinic, 1801 Sunset Dr., second floor, from 5:45-7 p.m. Diabetes screenings also will be available.
Free clinical breast exams and mammograms are available to women who meet the following requirements:
• Are over the age of 40
• Reside in Richland, Lexington or Fairfield counties
• Are uninsured or insurance does not cover annual breast cancer screenings
Free diabetes screenings are available for men and women who meet the following requirements:
• Anyone age 18-44 who is considered to be at high risk for diabetes
• All adults over the age of 45

Palmetto Health’s Office of Community Health offers a series of health care initiatives to uninsured and underinsured people in Richland, Lexington, Fairfield and Pickens counties. Services include free health screenings for cancer and diabetes, prenatal services and teen pregnancy prevention efforts.
