Palmetto Health to Host the Hospice Foundation of America’s 20th Annual National Bereavement Teleconference
Palmetto Health Hospice will host a free telecast of the 20th Annual National Bereavement Teleconference, “Improving Care for Veterans Facing Illness and Death,” from 1–4:30 p.m., Wednesday, April 17 and Thursday, April 18. The program provides an opportunity for a wide variety of professionals—including doctors, nurses, funeral directors, psychologists, educators, social workers and bereavement counselors—to share and exchange ideas and obtain continuing education credits. The telecast will be broadcast at the following Palmetto Health locations:
• Wednesday, April 17, at the Palmetto Health Baptist auditorium, 1501 Sumter St., in Columbia, S.C.
• Thursday, April 18, at the Palmetto Health Richland auditorium, 5 Medical Park Drive, in Columbia, S.C.
• Thursday, April 18, at Palmetto Health Hospice of Newberry, 1400 Camellia Ave., in Newberry, S.C.
Moderated by Frank Sesno, director of the School of Media and Public Affairs at George Washington University, the teleconference will enhance sensitivities and understanding of veterans and provide professionals with new interventions to better serve dying veterans and their families.
