News Releases02/07/2013 EVENT: Songs for Kids Tour WHEN: Friday, Feb. 8, 2013 TIME: 11 a.m. PLACE: Palmetto Health Children’s Hospital, 7 Richland Medical Park Drive FACTS: Palmetto Health Children’s Hospital is one of only 200 stops nationwide on the Songs for Kids Tour 2013. This eight-month outreach journey covers 25,000 miles and offers hospitalized children the opportunity to step on stage and participate in a concert created just for them. Artist Josh Rifkind and his group of musicians will invite children, their siblings and families to perform music in a setting that allows children to discover their inner rock stars. Rifkind is the founder of the annual 500 Songs for Kids event, which raises funds during a 10-day fundraiser to benefit the Songs for Kids Foundation. “There’s nothing better than seeing children’s excitement when they have a chance to make their own music,” said Rifkind.
